What is Garageband?

GarageBand features a virtual keyboard. With this, you can play using the keyboard musical instruments. On March 2, 2011, Apple announced the iPad version of GarageBand. The functions are quite similar to the OS X version, the app includes keyboards, drum sets, a sampler and various smart instruments. Songs can be sent via email or to an iTunes library.

On November 1, 2011, version 1.1 was released, which added support for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Users can now create custom chords for Smart Instruments. Songs can now be Exported as AAC or AIFF file.

Version 1.2 of the app became available on March 7, 2012, with support for third-generation iPad. The app now includes the ability to direct a virtual orchestra. Also, synthesizers are now available in the Smart tools. Also in this version new share options were added: Facebook, YouTube, SoundCloud, and iCloud are available now.
